GSPro Software Update - Developer Summer Teaser Release

Wow! This was a pleasant suprise! Today GSPro released a preview of summer release information for a future version of GSPro. No word on when the release will happen, but since it’s already May, we shouldn’t be too far away. I’m guessing late summer, maybe August. Here is the video link: https://youtu.be/BMcYjpL8PRg

Here’s my take on each of the features:

New Visual Shot Display (VSD) previously known as “Advanced Connect.”

New features include:

  • Scalable - currently the Advanced connect only supports 1080p windows and can be troublesome on secondary displays.

  • Support for left handed players (currently only right are supported). Asked for often by the community.

  • Dispersion mapping. Looks like this is the first step towards bag mapping (or maybe all the steps???) You can see the bottom right shows “PW” so it appears you will be able to select your clubs and track club dispersion to a specific target. This is huge and has been asked for a lot by the community.

  • Face impact appears much more exact than it is today. It’s an approximation in the Advanced connect now. It also appears to be showing historic information for face impact overlayed as additional shots on the club. This will be great to see tendencies in your shot patterns per club.

  • Options include showing all shots, only those with the club chose and different options for how to draw the impact marker, heat map, or both.

Putting Auto Aim

Putting auto aim will be helpful for launch monitors that can’t read putts I’d assume. It will be off by default for any tournaments of course. I can see this being helpful if you have guests over and they struggle with putting as well. You’ll notice in the video he they also show the speed you need to make the putt. Could be great for practice as well.

Range Finder

Woah - how cool does this look? I’m hopeful that this comes with a limited HUD view. This is all up in the air but what would be “cool” is a limited HUD mode showing maybe just a few things like the hole you are on and hiding things like the mini-map. Instead, pull out the range finder just like outdoor golf and pick your target. IMMERSIVE!!

Custom Skills Test

This was the only screenshot they showed on custom skills tests. Looks like more advanced skills tests are coming and can be customized to your liking.

GSPro LAB // Focus Cam

An overhead camera FROM GSPro that you can purchase say what?? This one sure blew me away. So many questions… My eyes tend to be pretty closely over the ball, so it seems that this would need to sit in between your eyes and the ball? Clearly this can improve the accuracy of putting from ANY launch monitor. This was a sneaky addition. I’m very excited to see what this brings. Again, if the price point is right, this could really assist the lower end launch monitors that do not currently support putting at all. They also showed a full swing shot using this tech. The view looked similar to what is provided by Uneekor.

GSPro // Uneekor Slider

This looks like a unit that you can install in a smaller room where offset is required giving you the ability to easily slide between left and right handed players. Could be invaluable for smaller rooms.
