What can I say? I love golf… I’ve been playing 40 years now and I’m as passionate about the game today as I was as a kid.
I started out working in the golf business but quickly realized working behind a counter wasn’t for me. I jumped into a life in Information Technology and spent 25 years there making a nice living meeting and marrying the woman of my dreams, and raising 3 wonderful kids. I was a weekend golfer with the occasional golf trip like so many others.
About 5 years ago, something changed - I realized with the advent of semi-affordable launch monitors, golf could once again be a larger part of my life, specifically indoor golf. I started playing less and less outdoors due to the various time and weather constraints and more and more in my garage. Golf course design and all things indoor golf have become an integral part of my life.
I have now built over 140 courses for our indoor golf community. It’s been a wonderful hobby that I can now call “Work".” It connects some of my most favorite things - technology, art, and golf. I play in weekly tournaments and events and have made hundreds of indoor golf “Friends” online and IRL (in real life.) I can’t tell you how much I enjoy bringing a course to “Virtual” life. It’s been a real blessing to find this creative side of me that really has been hidden since childhood.
Are you tired of 5+ hour rounds and commutes across town to play golf in sweltering heat? I know I was. Indoor golf has nearly replaced outdoor golf for me. I believe that we’ve only scratched the surface on what will become of indoor golf in the future. I’m excited for the journey that we’ve only started to embark on.
